Korczynski's Plays
CANADA HOUSE - CANADA STEEL - CANADA SQUARE

Korczynski's current project, Canada Steel, has been developed as the second part of a thematic trilogy (although each piece stands entirely on its own).

The first installment, Canada House, was staged in November 2004 to rave reviews.  The final installment, Canada Square, is scheduled for a 2008-09 production.

Each of the three pieces focuses on a “fallen” social class in contemporary Canadian society.  Thus, Canada House dealt with sweatshop labourers fallen onto Skid Row.  Canada Steel is a domestic thriller that follows the destruction of a laid off steelworker’s family over a Stanley Cup weekend.  The final installment, Canada Square, will look at a wealthy family forced into a bachelor apartment as a result of unwise investments by a ne-er-do-well son.
